The Spectrum Within

Not all minds follow the same tune,
Some dance to rhythms hidden, immune.
A world of colors, bright and wide,
Lives inside, where feelings hide.
Autism is not a curse, nor a flaw,
It’s a way of being, deserving awe.
Patterns, routines, comfort in order,
A mind that wanders, yet never borders.
Words may stumble, eyes may not meet,
Yet inside, thoughts are vivid and sweet.
Sensory worlds can overwhelm or delight,
Bright lights, soft touches, sounds that bite.
Some speak with ease, some silently think,
Some leap in laughter, some quietly sink.
Social cues can be a maze or a door,
A world misunderstood, but rich at its core.
A spectrum of brilliance, unique and true,
Each individual’s lens shows a different hue.
Creativity sparks in unexpected ways,
Logic and art blending through their days.
Listen closely, not just to the words,
Hear the thoughts that are often unheard.
Patience is key, and kindness the thread,
Weaving understanding where fear once spread.
Teach your children, your friends, your peers,
Acceptance grows when awareness appears.
Autism is diverse, not a problem to fix,
It’s a world of perspectives, emotions, and tricks.
Celebrate differences, let empathy lead,
Support and respect are the most vital seed.
For every mind, in its own special spin,
Holds a universe deep, the spectrum within.
